Mission

To develop community co-operation and pride through volunteer driven projects aimed at assisting non-profit organizations in the Niagara Region.

The Many Hands Project is a student-driven renovation program executed by students in the Event Management and Construction Studies programs at Niagara College. Each year, one local non-profit organization is chosen by the Many Hands Committee to receive their assistance. Together, the students plan and execute the entire process including; completing the desired renovations, involving the community through volunteer recruitment and raising awareness for the non-profit organization. With a $0 starting budget, it is critical to make important community partners and sponsors to help with the funding of the project. This is our 18th running year of the program.

This years recipient is Strive Niagara!

Strive Niagara promotes education, support and puts families first. The organization provides a strategically designed educational program. Young mothers are given an opportunity to complete their high school diploma in a safe facility that also provides quality child services and daycare. This program encourages these individuals to strive for greatness and build a successful future for themselves and their children. The centre offers support workers who provide counselling and emotional support, guidance, and programs and workshops on: parenting, life skills, career counselling, post-secondary preparation, goal setting, budgeting guidance, crisis intervention, as well as a wide variety of programs that allow the students to reach their goals.
